The birdroom measures 50ft by 10ft and I may add another 30ft extension in 2010 so that it will be U shaped. I use perspex dividers as this helps with the breeding process, as all birds can see what is going on next door, and the light is spread amongst the cages which I feel is very important. The perforated stainless steel sheets attached to the windows are for added security and act as a sun block as the breeding room is all glass fronted with windows along its entire length.
In the main breeding room is an air purifier, this has built in filters and after the air has passed through the filters it is fed to the ultra violet tubes which kills any virus and bacteria before being released back into the birdroom. Because the breeding room has a glass front I use a dehumidifier during the colder months to remove excess moisture from the birdroom, in my opinion too much moisture in the birdroom leads to disease and dead in shell. The only time I would consider the birdroom to be too dry is the HOT summer months I then use an atomiser.
